Sweaters distribution and sessions on health awareness organized for needy children in Islamabad

As part of the celebrations of Child Protection Day, Shifa Foundation, on 7^th February 2018, distributed free sweaters among 45 children of Basera Trust Islamabad and increased their awareness on health and social issues through varied activities.

Mr. Taimoor Shah, Board Member of Shifa Foundation, led the distribution ceremony and conducted an interactive session with children, where they sang poems and spoke their heart out. During the session, children were also informed about how to protect themselves from child abuse; enabling them to recognize bad touch and protect themselves by screaming or running away from the perpetrator.

As a preventive health measure, Shifa Foundation in collaboration with Premier Diagnostic Lab, further conducted Hepatitis screening at the event. Shifa team also educated children about the importance of washing hands with soap by organizing a hand washing activity, after which free meal was distributed under the campaign “Shifa Dastarkhwan”.

Towards the end of the event, a magic show was also held that was enjoyed by children with great enthusiasm.
