Shifa Foundation has been at the forefront of strengthening Pakistan's healthcare system through integrated, community-driven, and emergency health interventions. Over the past three decades, Shifa Foundation has worked across all provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), delivering quality healthcare services in partnership with national and international donors, government departments, and UN agencies.

With a strong focus on primary healthcare, maternal and newborn care, immunization, epidemic response, and health systems strengthening, SF has expanded access to life-saving services for marginalized and disaster-affected populations.

Health Portfolio

Shifa Foundation, established in 1991, is a leading non-profit organization in Pakistan delivering integrated programs in health, nutrition, WASH, protection, food security, and mental health to vulnerable and disaster-affected communities nationwide.

Through strong partnerships with international agencies, government institutions, and civil society, Shifa Foundation has implemented large-scale maternal and child nutrition initiatives, strengthened systems for managing malnutrition, and provided life-saving services during floods, droughts, and emergencies.

Its WASH programs have improved safe water access, sanitation, and hygiene practices; protection interventions have safeguarded the rights and dignity of women, children, and marginalized groups; while food security projects have supported households with livelihoods and resilience building.

Recognizing the growing need for psychosocial care, Shifa Foundation has introduced community-based mental health and well-being services. With a track record of three decades, Shifa Foundation has reached millions of beneficiaries across all provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and AJK, contributing to Pakistan’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while promoting dignity, equity, and resilience among communities.

Shifa Foundation's health portfolio comprises over 31 projects implemented between 2013 and 2025, with a cumulative value of more than PKR 1.98 billion. These projects range from large-scale system strengthening and epidemic response to targeted maternal, newborn, and child health initiatives. The scale demonstrates the Foundation's ability to implement multi-sectoral interventions across rural, peri-urban, and urban contexts while maintaining efficiency and accountability.
