Shifa Foundation’s Transformative Visit to Sindh

Shifa Foundation remains committed in its mission to uplift vulnerable communities through sustainable involvements in health, nutrition, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Recently, a dedicated team from Shifa Foundation, led by Executive Director Dr. Khadeeja Azhar, embarked on a transformative visit to the underserved communities of Sindh, witnessing firsthand the impact of ongoing initiatives and engaging directly with beneficiaries whose lives have been positively transformed.

Safe drinking water is a fundamental human right, yet many communities in Sindh continue to suffer from water scarcity and contamination. Recognizing this, Shifa Foundation has prioritized WASH initiatives through its Sip of Life campaign, which specifically addresses the lack of clean water in underserved communities of Sindh, where people have no access to safe drinking water.

As part of this effort, and in collaboration with Ufone and PTCL, a hand pump was installed in a remote area to provide clean and safe drinking water to families in need. During the visit, our team inspected these facilities, ensuring that they are functioning optimally and serving the intended purpose of reducing waterborne diseases and improving overall public health. Conversations with community members highlighted the transformative impact of these initiatives, supporting the necessity of sustainable water access initiatives.

Beyond providing essential services, Shifa Foundation highlights community engagement and empowerment. Our visit strengthened the importance of collaborative efforts with community leaders and health workers, to expand the impact of our projects.
