30 YEARS OF SERVING HUMANITY

Shifa Foundation is a Non-Governmental and Nonprofit National Organization established in 1991. Shifa Foundation has assisted more than 12 million needy people of underprivileged areas of Pakistan in terms of Healthcare, Nutrition and food supply, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Disaster Risk Reduction, Mental Health, Psychosocial Support, and relief assistance to the victims of disasters.

In order to celebrate the humanitarian services and to honor the sincere contributions of donors and supporters, Shifa Foundation organized a mega event at Shifa International Hospital with the theme of “Thirty Years of Creating Impact”.

Dr. Nausheen Hamid, Parliamentary Secretary on Health, Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination, attended the event as Chief Guest, while the Guest of Honor was Dr. Hamid Jalil, Member Food Security, Climate Change & Nutrition (SUN Executive Committee Alternate Member South & Central Asia region).

Senior officials of ministries, Shifa International Hospital, Chamber of Commerce and Industry Islamabad/ Rawalpindi, representatives of National and International NGOs, representatives of UNICEF, UNWFP and International Committee of Red Cross, management of SZABIST University, NUML University and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry attended the event.

Chairman Executive Committee and member BoG of Shifa Foundation Dr. Zeeshan Bin Ishtiaque welcomed the participants in his opening remarks. Mr. Taimoor Shah, Chief Operating Officer of Shifa International Hospital, shared the efforts and services extended by the Shifa Foundation team.

A special documentary was played regarding the services of the Shifa Foundation in the last 30 years, including the food assistance programs, nutrition programs, water and sanitation services, and the relief response during the earthquake in 2005, the super flood in 2010, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The representatives of Benazir Income Support Program, UNICEF, UNWFP Concern Worldwide, Nutrition International, and INGOs highly appreciated the efforts and services of the Shifa Foundation.

CEO of Shifa International Hospital, Chairman of Shifa Foundation, and the founding member of Shifa Foundation Dr. Manzoor ul Haq Qazi, in his address, highlighted the achievements and services of Shifa Foundation. He added that since the inception of the Shifa Foundation in 1991, the focus of its services is to provide quality and timely assistance to the beneficiaries. He urged the participants of the event to come forward to support the humanitarian services of the Shifa Foundation.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Nausheen Hamid, Parliamentary Secretary on Health, Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, congratulated the Shifa Foundation on the completion of 30 years and appreciated the services of Shifa Foundation, especially in the far-flung and deprived regions of Pakistan. She ensured complete support from the Government to the Shifa Foundation in its services for enhancing healthcare in the country.

At the end of the event, souvenirs were given to the distinguished guests.
