Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic and protective lockdowns across globe has shattered the economies. Pakistan, too, has faced the heat of global meltdown. The daily wagers appeared to be the most vulnerable of all. They have lost means to provide nutritious meals for their families due to joblessness.

Shifa Foundation had successfully distributed food packages among 21,000 beneficiaries belonging to the families of daily wagers during Ramadan in “Food for Daily Wagers Campaign”. This campaign received applauding response from donors who wanted to contribute towards feeding the deserving communities.

Moving forward, Qurbani is another time of the year when those who cannot afford nutritious meals get to eat it. Our Process

Purchasing of Animals

Our dedicated and experienced team ensures the purchase of healthy animals as per the eligibility set by Islam. During purchasing of the animals, safety of everyone involved must be ensured by practicing social distancing policies laid down by Government of Pakistan and World Health Organization (WHO).

Transportation

All purchased animals are then transferred safely to the slaughtering houses.

Re-Examination of Animals

As animals arrive at the central slaughtering house or at all distribution center, a designated team or veterinarians re-examine all the animals.

Ante-Mortem

On the day of Qurbani, all animals go through the ante-mortem to ensure disease free meat.

Slaughtering

Slaughtering starts from Eid Day 1 till Eid Day 3. Conducted by the expert team of Muslim butchers, no animal si being slaughtered in front of other animals. All teams involved take special precaution such as wearing masks and gloves.

Distribution of Meat

After butchering the meat is packaged in clean bags and stored in the clod-house. The deserving beneficiaries are given exact time of distribution where a team comprised of local dignitaries supervise and ensure that sacrificial meat reaches the most deserving people. The distribution team practices all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) prescribed by Government of Pakistan and World Health Organization (WHO) in letter and spirit.

Reporting

Complete report along with pictures of the Qurbani campaign and with the list of beneficiaries is shared with the donors within 30 working days.
