Kindle Foundation organized Islamabad Children Literature Festival in Collaboration with Shifa Foundation

Islamabad, January 19^th, 2019: A two day children festival was organized by Kindle Foundation in collaboration with Shifa Foundation at Aiwan i Quaid, F-9 Park, Islamabad. The festival consisted of music shows, movies, puppets shows, children competitions, games, exhibitions, aerobatic display, training workshops and learning sessions for kids.

Two days of the fun packed event entailed music performances, puppet shows, book stalls, tablo skits by school children, and literary performances. The number of attendees was huge on the first day of the event and the participants portrayed keen interest in book stalls, robot exhibition, informative booths and performances by children. Different organizations welcomed the children with face paintings, games, sketching and information at their stalls. The day ended with a wonderful model air show with fascinated the children.

Shifa Foundation’s booth rendered information to the visitors about its services for the underprivileged communities around Pakistan. Pamphlets and brochures were distributed among the attendees regarding Shifa Foundation’s nutrition program for malnourished children in Thar and Shifa Cancer Hope’s provision of free cancer treatment to young cancer patients.

The festival continued till Sunday 20^th January from 10am to 4pm. Despite the rain, there was a huge crowd who attended the event. Parents and children enjoy the festival and the food stalls tantalized their taste buds. ‘The purpose of the children literature festival was to promote a fondness for literature amongst the children and stimulate a reading habit in them and such events promote a learning environment for the little ones’, said an organizer.
