Shifa Foundation has a special focus on improving the quality of education in Pakistan. Until recently, shifa Foundation had Shifa College of Medicine and Shifa College of Nursing operating under its umbrella.

Shifa Foundation is also a sponsor of Shifa Tameer e Millat University (STMU), which builds upon the strengths of Shifa Foundation and Tameer e Millat Foundation

Shifa College of Medicine

Shifa college of medicine is an approved entity by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and is affiliatedDSC07910 with Bahria university, Islamabad. It is registered with the World Health Organization and included in the list of Faimer International Medical Education directory.

The faculty of SCM provides diversity which is the real essence of a good educational institution. Brilliant doctors with appropriately high qualifications and exceptional skills provide a multifaceted academic outlook. Similarly, students also bring diversity hailing from multinational and multicultural backdrops.

Some of the achievements of Shifa College of Medicine are:

Shifa Foundation Community Health Centre [SFCHC]

Shifa foundation Community Health Center has both inpatient and outpatient departments that offer health care services to the less endowed people of the community.

The clinic meets two objectives:

    • To serve the community
    • To educate the students

Primary Healthcare Clinic at Nur Pur Shahan [Bari Imam]

Shifa College of Medicine established a primary health care centre at Nur Pur Shahan near Bari Imam in the suburb of Islamabad in collaboration with Rotary Club Cosmopolitan. A gynecologist, a pediatrician and 3 medical officers daily provide health care services free of cost. Patients requiring specialist’s care are referred to SFCHC/ SIH for advanced diagnosis and management. This would become a hub of “family medicine” in real terms.

Free Medical Camps Organized by SFCHC/SCM in 2010-2011

Free medical camps were organized by SFCHC/SCM in partnership with other NGOs in different areas of Pakistan. The students also actively participated in these noble activities as part of their learning process.

Shifa College of Nursing

Shifa College of Nursing (SCN) Islamabad was established in January 2004 to produce nursing students with professional skills for the betterment of health conditions in Pakistan.cam1 The college has its custom-built premises at the Shifa International Hospital, courtesy of the hospital, and has fulfilled the requirements of Pakistan Nursing Council.

Shifa Tameer e Millat University

The proposal to establish STMU was drafted and approved by the federal cabinet meeting held on February 15, 2006. The act that provides for establishment of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University at Islamabad was passed by the national assembly on January 16, 2012, by the senate on February 10, 2012 and finally the President of Pakistan signed the charter on March 6, 2012.

Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University is jointly sponsored by Shifa Foundation, Tameer-e-Millat Foundation and Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad. Envisaged and planned to be a federally chartered, multi campus university, the first campus of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University is planned to be constructed in Islamabad in H-8/4 sector. Planned on 11.2 acres of land, this campus will house state of the art facilities and equipment.

Following academic programs will be offered:

  • MBBS program
  • Bachelor degree program in Nursing
  • Bachelor degree program in Pharmacy
  • Bachelor degree program in Medical Technology
  • Master, M. Phil and Ph. D Program in Medical subjects
  • Master in Biotechnology
